Trump Plays 4D Chess with Congressional Obstructionists and Mexico—Time to Get in the Game!

Trump haters ridiculed him for his claim that he would build a wall on the southern border and that Mexico would pay for it. Instead of understanding hyperbole, they take him completely literally when he says Mt Everest would be “a lot easier” to climb and the ‘fact-checkers’ have gone haywire with this sort of nonsense. But what they miss is the point. President Trump campaigned on securing the border by any means possible, a big imposing barrier to the looming lawlessness, and the details of how it is done only matter to those who are desperately trying to find fault with him. A reasonable person understands that it is the end result, not the means of getting there, that matters.

Trump’s latest move on this grand chess board is brilliant. He has been obstructed at every turn by his political enemies in both parties (yes, Republicans too) and the border wall has been no exception. Even against executive action, the Courts have blocked any attempt at funding a physical barrier and progress on the issue has seemed to be dead in the water. However, Trump has apparently looked past these obstructions of various means to accomplish the goal. The real goal is not to build a wall, but to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. That is a goal that does not need to be solved with a wall or even on our side of the border. And Trump, through the threat of tariffs, is encouraging Mexico to solve the problem on their side.

Unfortunately, even many Republicans in Congress do not get this, instead of getting behind the President and having a long-term vision, they seem only to be worried about the optics. Or maybe it is that they put their short-term corporate profits over the country’s future? They say tariffs will amount to a tax on the American people, but never mind the tremendous cost of illegal immigration and policing our border. We spend $116 billion (or more) every year to support illegal immigrants and our Representatives would have us believe that we can’t afford to pay a little more for Mexican imports? And maybe they’ve forgotten that our jobs (gone to Mexico, China, etc) are more important their stockholder’s profits?

The Republicans complaining that Trump is “playing chicken” have revealed themselves as being cowards or they are complicit with the Democrats in wanting us to be overrun by illegal immigrants. I mean, what else could it be? They are either traitors or too stupid to realizes that if we do nothing to stem the flow soon we won’t have a nation. Nobody, besides Trump, seems willing to get the job done in securing the border and we need to do more than hope that he does more than just stay ahead of the Washington establishment. He is great at this game of 4D chess, but he can’t do it alone and needs the American people to help him weed out the obstructionists in Congress.

Trump has pulled out all of the stops, he’s playing the game at a level I’ve never seen prior to him, but it is pretty much impossible to expect him to get anything done when both parties are out to thwart his agenda. So we need to send a big message in 2020, we need to be active now, or you might as well start practicing your Spanish and get used to saying “Dear Leader Ocasio-Cortez” to avoid the gulags. It would be a shame to waste the opportunity of the present, with the coming Census that will include questions about legal status, and there may never be another chance if we do not rise to the occasion or get our heads in the game.

It seems our Congress is playing the wrong game, the game where their stock portfolio wins and we lose jobs, income, and our freedom. They are playing the partisan politics game, making their moves based on what gets them praise from globalist elites, and couldn’t care less about what is good for us. Trump, with each move, is exposing them, he is putting us in a position to win, but will we do our part or remain complacent and content to be spectators in a game that requires our participation?
